    My car won't start

My car got broken into last night (smashed window) and they ripped out my head unit, and amp from the trunk.

Now my car won't start. I'm not getting spark. I don't know if the ECU is getting power. I tried reversing the fuel pump relay and O2 heater relay with no luck.

The car cranks fine but isn't firing at all.

The car was low on gas last night and I had it packed facing up a hill so I was guessing that the fuel pump was starved but I put gas in the tank and I don't think it was really that low anyways. I've got just under 1/4 tank now.

Could they have shorted something out while ripping my stereo out that would cause the car not to start? How do I know if the ECU is getting power?

All the fuses in the fuse box are fine.

stick a screw driver in a spark wire and see if it jumps to ground and can you hear the fuel pump

There is no spark, I already tested it. I can't hear the fuel pump but its only on when you crank it, and when its cranking its too loud to hear a small fuel pump noise.

There is a smaller wire that runs with the battery wire that is fused back by the battery. check that the fuse is good and the wire is connected well

Trace your wires from your harness to the ecu he seems to think they are linked together and the radio harness runs to the ecu as well. He aslo asked about the wires from your obc. If you have a kill switch option on your obc that could have been tripped.... the main thing I guess is to find a wiring diagram and figure out which wire/pin is the power, then put a test light on it. Do you have a bentley?

Do you know exactly where this fuse is? I think its a possibility since my head unit was powered by that small black wire on the distribution block on the firewall.

its on the wire by the battery cable. Its an inline fuse. Im bettting thats it as neighter fuel nor spark will happen if there is something wrong with it

The fusable link is broken. I'm hoping that nothing else got damaged and if I fix the link, the car will start. Is it possible they shorted the ECU or anything else when the link popped?

This seems like a pretty piece of equipment - what do I need to do to repair it? Is it something I can do on my own? I have pretty good electrical knowledge.

Rich, maybe you could ask your friend?

The link is there to prevent damge to the ecu etc so you should be fine.

Strange though that it cranks with it broken.

The main cable still provides power the distribution block.
