e-brake shoe thickness

What is the min. thickness of the parking brake shoe before it need replace ?
Bentley manual does not have the spec.
I tried to adjust e-brake with no luck, followed most of the procedure available on the web already, I suspect the shoe lining is too thin, it has about 2 to 3 mm thick.

You're doing something wrong because that bad boy can get up metal to metal contact.

If there's not enough adjustment at the star nut (in the drum) then back them off a bit adjust the 2 nuts under the brake handle.
