Sounds like a great setup, pretty much what I'm running right now, save for ST sways and soon to be a set of RA-1s as opposed to the advans.
When you say "dedicated track car", the sky's the limit. It really depends on what the further plans are for the car once you make it a full on track vehicle. I'm eventually going to go with the Turner "j-stock" springs & custom valved bilsteins, my overall plans are to run the car in k-stock, which doesn't allow coilovers. That being said, if you're just going balls out, then a C/O setup with some properly valved Koni SA's (or DA's if you have the checkbook for it) would probably be ideal. It allows you a wide selection in terms of available spring rates, and allows you to easily cornerweight the car.

actually, since he's just using H&R sports, bilstiens are more than enough. the adjustability of the koni is nice, but not neccesary. if he was going with coilovers or something, then konis might be needed. Remember, specE30 uses bilstien sports with H&R race and it performs fine.Originally posted by MattM20if you got the $$$ then i'd go for the koni SA's instead of the bilsteins
I need konis on my car, they don't make bilstien sports for an ix and bilstien HD aren't enough to control the springs.
bushings on the other hand, are highly reccomended. if you're putting stiff suspension on a car with 15 year old bushings, your handling will be quite strange.Comment

$150 extra for 3-way adjustability on all 4 corners is worth it imo. and since he's getting sways and a strut brace it may push pretty hard with bilsteins.Originally posted by nandoactually, since he's just using H&R sports, bilstiens are more than enough. the adjustability of the koni is nice, but not neccesary. if he was going with coilovers or something, then konis might be needed. What kind of bushings would he need? How about RSM's? Is it a 318is your putting this on?Comment

trailing arm, subframe, and control arm bushings, possibly strut mounts and control arms depending on their shape. if you bother with bushings, go with all eurethane (except maybe the control arms, M3 offset work great).
my buddy's car has completely shot subframe and trailing arm bushings.. boy is that thing fun to drive in the twisties
