It does smoke a LOT and smells bad! It was way funny when I dogged the SUV up the street billowing white smoke form the back!
amsoil products rule (I'm running their oil right now). How do you use that foaming product?
Just spray it into the running engine, shut it off, let it sit, restart and drive it.

Yea, I did it about 4 times, suck it in and shut the motor off. Suck it in and shut it off....

Gave it a nice soaking. I think the trick is to keep as much of the stuff in the motor when you're putting it in, or other wise it just gets blown out, so keep the rev's down. I let mine sip on the stuff. - I'm sure I got more smoke than anyone here has described so far...

BUt besides that - motor is a good deal smoother...and a bit more power down low.

Ditto. It think it's probably useless to just suck in and blow out the whole can.

just sucked a whole can into my car a little bit ago.. haha, the whole street was filled with smoke! I let her rip on the freeway afterwards, I'm not sure I felt much difference, as my engine ran pretty good to begin with, but I was at the autoparts store getting a can of carb cleaner for my ICV (didn't help the idle at all though), and the seafoam was right next to it..

I'm positive my idle is vacuum related anyway, my intake boot is super cracked (i filled it in with sillicone again as a temporary fix until a new one comes), plus my gaskets are probably not that great. sealing up the intake boot did help a bit, and when I pulled the vacuum line off the FPR to suck in the seafoam my car's idle went back to the way it was when I first got the car.

oh well, I spent a day cleaning my engine bay out a little bit, cleaning/painting my AFM and making sure nothing else has rattled apart. at least the engine doesn't seem to be running any worse. :P

Revival of a good thread 8) I love this stuff, works wonders on engines.
Just wanted to clarify, you are supposed to let the engine die and let it sit! Offical instructions here:

The best improvement you can do to a car is become a better driver.

Where would I get it in the UK??

Where would I be able to get my hands on Sea Foam here in the UK? From what you are all saying, I think I need some of this stuff.
None of the shops here have heard of it :( Pity.

if you can't get a hold of some seafoam, i've read of DSM guys sucking water, then ATF, then water, through their engines for the same effect.

                        ATF
Water is fine - hot rod guys have been doing that for years to get rid of carbon. (preaty sure it would be o2 / cat safe????) - but ATF - that's just weird...

I've used ATF in my diesel.
They say that ATF has some strong detergents tp clean out the injectors.

It's totally retarded to do this in a gas car.

So how would you go about using water then? In the same way as using Sea Foam? Vacuum it in, let it sit for a while, and then drive it out?
                            Would it REALLY actually work?

it would work, but not nearly as well as seafoam. the water should turn into hot steam in the combustion chamber and clean off a lot of the carbon deposits.
