it will fit if you line up the big6 afm in the same posistion as the stock one (they are the same size on the outside). I had it all lined up and read to make a bracket for it. but yeah that filter is pretty damn big. :PComment

Bryson, Nateb,
where are your guys' ABS pumps/cruise controls? Coolant reserve?
I don't have any space in mine for any filters.......let alone a huge ass one.
Note: stock boot does fit, even though I was disbelieving......

Doesn't fit so well..........

Well one thing, that is a huge fucking filter, and it should fit. Well at least mine does. Is that some kit from BMP or somthing? Weird. I used the Boot off of an e34 M50 and it worked fine (extended it out far enough).

Nando cleaned it and crinkle painted it. I just used the stock boot and it worked fine.
Looks real clean. I need to get a spare airbox and M20 AFM (maybe), I'll mod the airbox to fit the bigger AFM, which will also give a good way to mount it.
The AFM is so heavy, I don't trust some metal straps to hold it, and the airbox should give a clean look.
And while I'm at it.....I'll do the swiss cheese airbox mod ;) Gotta love the sound  I'll have a spare box anyhow.
Probably will clean the box up or paint it black again. Should look real clean. If only I knew if I needed to swap the electronics or not.Comment

making it fit on the stock airbox wouldn't be too hard. you'll have to enlarge the inlet hole, it's much bigger on the M30, and bolt it directly to the AFM (unscrew the peice that connects to the cone and use those thread holes, like the M20). I still think you could make the cone work, although there may very well be more room in my ix engine bay, but my coolant resivior and cruise control are in the same place.
you should get it working first though. :)Comment

shit, mine fit fine, but go back into the thread where i showed you my intake box pics, you'll see that my cruise control is mounted away from the air intake
btw, i finished the air intake and it's a-mazing, I have pics on my shitty camera that i need to upload
