What about my massive MT2 spoiler on top of it, that should be like 50mpg right?

I don't know, is the MT2 classified as a spoiler or a wing? It's probably more effective anyway, but who knows by how much.

naw since the mt2 is like 2 spoilers in one, so 50x2=100mpg

I don't think it would be a good idea even if you could.
The Alpina b10s has 360hp and its capable of 180mph. So I think 1000+ is a little jurastic

I'd like to see a verified, 360hp E30 hitting 180mph.. It's not like there aren't plenty of 300-400hp E30s running around these days.

beside, the higher the speed, the more exponential horse power you need. Otherwise the veyron would go like 1000mph

This thread existed long before I did in the e30 world, but I can't help but wonder why one would need 1/4" thick CF. Why not some thick(ish) aluminum sheeting?

Also, people were talking about the bricklike effect of e30s on one of the first pages from years back, but iirc, the e30 drag coefficient is like .32 whereas a lot of modern cars are hardly less. For example my dad's 2000 impala is .31

It's a good enough idea, but I personally don't care enough.

I think the .32 is the M3 which has an improved aerodynamic shape compared to the stock E30 even if it doesn't seem like it.

I am wondering....should I take my sunroof spoiler off too or is that reducing drag by eleven-fold as well? I don't open my sunroof much at speeds higher than 50 so I don't think I am getting much use out of it.

I would wager 1.5mm aluminum would be lighter than 1/4" CF. It's just for air, not a skid plate so it doesn't gotta be thick.

Trying to make a supercar like underbody panel system for a car thats worth 2-10k is totally pointless and a waste of money. ESPECIALLY out of aluminum and then carbon fiber, do you have any idea what that would cost? Just the aluminum alone would probably equal the cost of your car. IF you want to do this, chop about 50% of the top of the car off, make a panel to cover the entire front end/grill splitter area, to modify it to be about a 30 degree slope(which would look totally ridiculous), then figure out how to put enough horse power into the car to make the under body system useful at all. Which would probably be about 600-700. Have fun getting reckless driving tickets every single time you take your car out to use your awesome under body panel system. Lol sorry man. Might as well buy a used 512TR or something because doing this will probably cost about as much.

This is what you are looking for.

maybe you should realize this thread is 6 years old and the idea was already shot down? who exactly are you telling off here?
