This all sounds like a huge waste of time and money that would be better spent elsewhere.

On a road car maybe, but on a race car maybe not so much. Although some might say it would be easier and cheaper to add more hp.

Oh man, you are so cool, because you have a ton of posts and are a moderator. Never mind, sorry I'm not famous in the r3v community like you are. Famous like Michael Jackson. Who are you again? Nando who has nothing better to do than post on a forum. I bet you get any girl you want.

          Interesting diagram. Saved.

I'm so insulted! Of course being part of R3v/E3s since 2002 has nothing to do with my post count, right? 6.5 posts a day since 2003, wow I must be a loser. The only person making a big deal out of my mod status is you (famous? with an anonymous SN? On an E30 forum? LOL).

            BTW I'm married. ;)

                  Sorry for off topic.

Burying the hatchet on my end. I'm done with this. So many more pointless insults, and stupid bs could go back and forth. No point in wasting anymore of either of our time.

the lift results from circulation around the wing, the airfoil shape is the most efficient way to get the circulation.

That's the reason you can put an engine on a pizza box and get it to fly.

Also, the lift vector will be tilted back more producing drag.
I believe you're referring to the delta wing (seen on jets) where the shape of the aircraft/wing generates a vortex above the wing resulting in extremely high velocity air and therefore extremely low pressure, ultimately resulting in lift.

On an automobile wing or commercial airliner its due to the same principle of velocity and pressure just in a different manner as stated in my first post. I cannot relate to your "circulations".

Just some tests I've run in the past.

Delta Wing (16 deg. angle of attack)

Airfoil (symmetric and 0 deg. angle of attack) Similar to non-symmetric if angle of attack is increased.
