Thanks guys, just I got my eta running pretty good took it for a spin around my area and she didn't seem to have the power. Smooth ride (except the exhaust on that car is crap) but I want to feel the power. The cool thing is when I put the money into it, it will be worth it. I bought it for 1k got it running well with 200 bucks, so putting the 5spd in it would still be worth it.

Quick question, must those huge bumpers be on the car? I mean I'm thinking about how the car may look with them off till I really wanna know what I wanna do with them.

That has got to be the worst idea I've ever heard.

Haha, I was just imagining them off and I was thinking it wasn't too bad. I love the lines of the car except those chrome bumpers.

Here's something you can do in the meantime to alleviate a little of the pain, courtest of yours truly:

I was really considering a tuck, one way to get rid of a few inches. And I read through Jordan's write up and I'm most likely gonna do it. I just wonder how it would look with them off all the way, just it's not illegal is it?

              That's actually my write-up.

Yes, it is illegal to drive with no bumpers on your car.

do you have motor swap plans? if so, yeah its worth it, if not then buy an I

I's are not that fast either, which is why I don't consider them better at all, I have fucklots of fun in my eta, and swapping in my manual completely woke the car up.

the ETA is a hella fun engine once you open the exhaust/intake and chip it

325i intake manifold and throttle body help alot as well....

depends on your plan, only I car I personally would get is an 87, cause I like the early models better then the newer late models
Man, don't lie to the poor kids like that.

The e's are good as parts cars and "pick it up for 250 bucks and drive it until it dies" transportation, but other than that, you're just wasting your time with them.

The e is basically a gas powered diesel, it's nice for idling in stop and go traffic, but other than that, it's an unresponsive motor that runs out of steam very quickly. Good for grandma, but death for anyone with a set of testicles. For the time & money that it will cost to get a 5 speed swapped into the e, you can buy a decent 87 'i motored car.

If you have enough money to do the manual conversion, and then sell your 325e you should have enough to afford a 325i.

IIRC, Eurodepot sells a 5 speed kit for around 995$, if you want ot buy the stuff all at once etc, but you can do it for much less on you're own probably. When i do mine, i plan on doing it all myself, or as much as possible. Having it completly shop done would be murder.

Actually, The Euro Depot's kit is VERY competitively priced. I would have gone with that had I done it over again. It really simplifies the process.

                            right on!

Really it all depends on what you want to do with your car.. As Charlie said, most e's are either parts cars or drive 'em 'till they die cars.

If you want a decent enough car with just a little power, sure, keep your car and change a few things. However, if you're looking for a beefier car, I'd suggest selling the e, and buying an i.

But that's how I see it, cause I'm pretty much in your shoes.
