Is This a Breather Valve Hose?

I'm having trouble identifying this hose that connects to the bottom of the throttle body. First pic is the part from my car. Second pic is from the internet and shows the part on a car after the throttle body has been removed.

Is this part number 13311288284? Hose that connects to fuel tank breather valve? All pictures I can find for that part number look like a standard shape hose with a 90 degree bend, not the part pictured above. I've been researching this online for over an hour and am stumped.

So I did some more investigation on my touring and cabrio. The part # listed above is correct for this part. The picture above is from the touring (10/88). The same part on my cabrio (7/91) looks like the currently available version of the part, which means either the part was updated by the time the cabrio was made or the part was replaced at some point before I bought the car in 2006.

Now a follow-up question: The current version of the part looks like 8mm fuel hose with a bend in it. Is there something special about the hose or can I just replace it with a length of 8mm fuel hose?

It is for crankcase ventilation, iirc
yes you can substitute some fuel/oil resistant hose.

Its a purge valve hose for fuel vapors back into the intake so the gas tank doesn't pressurize and the vapors have someplace to go other than atmosphere..
