    VACs 2.5l stroker kit

    95mm Stroke Bore Size: 93.5 mm; 94 mm; 94.5 mm; 95 mm; 95.5 mm. Compression Ratio: 8.5:1; 9:1; 9.5:1; 10:1; 10.5:1; 11:1; 11.5:1; 12:1; 12.5:1; 13:1; 13.5:1; 14:1. Connecting Rod Type: SP Components; Arrow Precision; Carrillo.

Does anyone on here have any expereince with a 2.5l S14? Sport evos were 2.5L and were about 238hp stock(wiki). I would assume with an CAI, full exhuast less cats that a stroker kit could yeild over 240-250bhp. Thats around or little over e36 M3 stock power.

    So my 2nd question is with a e30 m3 with ~245hp would the HP to weight ratio feel like a NA modded e36 M3 or a stock e46 M3? A 245hp E30 M3 has to be a little quicker than a stock E36 M3 as its almost 300lbs lighter.

Just wondering. Seems like a decnt rebuild option above if someone(I) could get a NA s14 up passed 245bhp.

    Comments / suggestions?

Do some reading on S14.net. My white m3 came with that set but it was from TMS. At 95.5 MM the stock 2.3L block has to be bored out to it last bore. Meaning it's useless after that unless you sleeve it.

Simply increasing the bore and stroke to 2.5 isn't going to automatically give you 240HP ...it doesn't work like that. There are many differences between the sport evo engine and the us spec S14. Everything was upgraded on the sport evo engine from the factory to work as a system to produce 238HP. Getting power from the S14 isn't hard per se. There are many guys running close to 300HP on the street. It does however, cost a lot of money for parts and pushing an NA 4 cylinder that high up in HP often makes it more unreliable. This is why many people opt to swap the S50 in.

Many of the 2.5 kits are just evo crank, custom pistons, chip and headgasket. That will take care of half the equation. What about the top end? The sport evo engine has larger ports, valves, stiffer valve springs, cams, injectors, throttles, headers and exhaust, trumpets, etc. etc. You get the idea. If you bought this stuff new, you'll probably spend 10K in parts alone + labor.

Many have fell victim of the slippery slope of chasing hp. Drive the car for now appreciate it. Have the valves adjusted if you haven't done so.

My white car went through two 2.5L engines....why improper fueling. Detonation is not pretty. The other time a broken valve spring killed it. Now it's happy running a mild modded 2.3l

I will say I am glad I didn't pay for the 2.5L setups.

I suggest you check the DME for a chip. If you don't have one, get either a turner chip or iigo chip from BMarques. That's the single best mod you can do to a stock engine without breaking the bank. Then intake/exhaust and of course maintenance. You don't want any vacuum leaks at the throttle gaskets, elbows, etc.

I have the Iigo sp93 and was light years ahead of the superchip that was in it. The other one was just to rich and was over fueling the engine causing it to run like a pig.

Iigo SP93 is just a bit more advance in tuning for the 93 octane gas.

Eidt: nevermind, I figured it out.

Barry, google isn't returning anything for the Bmarques seller you mentioned...
