I have an opportunity to pick up a set of MoMo Mirages with center caps. really debating it right now :( I don't really like the looks, but I could have them powder coated and polish. Should I?Leave a comment:

interesting.. and good to finally see that somebody has compared the two.
i wonder still what it is that causes some guys' swaps to end up with the front wheels off center in the wheelwell, and others end up looking fineLeave a comment:

Hey dave,
You used brand new break pads right? because I have a set with about 50% worn off. Do you think they will clear or maybe use some 3mm spacers along with it?Leave a comment:

also you are running non-M knuckles, same as me. It seems like the guys with M-knuckles dont have any wheel positioning problems. I read somewhere that the M knuckles may have some additional built in caster, pushing the axle centerline even more foward than the offset CABs and 97 M-arms will give you (this was just an idea, nobody can seem to confirm it)
The only difference I saw when comparing them side by side was the offset of the brake caliper was completely different.Leave a comment:

I talked to Ron and he called a guy nearby with a metal shop. Looks like early next week, I'll bring in the vert, put it on a rack, pop the front wheels, and remove the centers.
We'll take the a center over and have the metal shop man put it on the lathe and take some material off. The metal shop is a few doors down, so I suppose we can be conservative, bringing the center back to test fit and if needs be, back to the metal shop to take a bit more off. Once we've got it working, we'll copy the cut on the center of the other front wheel.
I still need to study it to determine just where I want the cut, the shape and dimensions. I'll probably make some hand drawings this weekend, maybe take a pic and photoshop some dimensions on it.
So that's the basic plan for now.Leave a comment:

Doubt that has anything to do with not being able to post there. I don't have a m3 and can post there, probably more to do with just being activated. Try PMing a mod there.
I have read on S14.net that some will leave the clips off to run certain wheels and once the pads get wore down some then you can put the clips back on...
