I feel like an Idiot CA

Has anyone had trouble fitting new control arms, specifically the ball joint that bolts to the strut? I cant seem to figure any solution out. Ive tried jacking it up but it just compresses the spring/shock. And i tried getting a press but i dont have the right amount of space or angles to make it work. Any advice helps. Thanks

Can you get a grip with a few turns of the threads? That will pull the shaft into position.

No grip whatsoever. The stud barely comes through the ohwr side. And the CA' are lemfoerder so I don't think that is the problem.

Jack it up high, anti-seize on the shaft, and a BFH. Otherwise, I'd grab a micrometer and spec both the shaft and spindle hole.

Yeah im about to use a hammer. I have a micrometer and i checked the shaft and spindle hole. and the new shaft is exactly the same as the old one (original part, never been replaced)

All that is happening is your brand new balljoints don't flex easy like your old ones did.

Line it up better and it will fit.

I know it will line up, I just don't know how to force it in there. when I jack
up the CA into the strut it goes up a ways and them starts lifting the car. I'm thinking I need like a manual press or something.

Use some cribbing, and jack it until the strut hits the bumpstop if need be.

I bet a little anti-seize will do wonders
