I need new callipers and based on all the feedback from Spec E30 guys the ATE ones sound way better. If I am buying rebuilt ATE callipers would they work with the Girling carriers or do I need to find a set of them as well?

The spec e30 guys are probably also running solid guide bushings. $$$

And from what I understand those bushings need greasing often which isn't a problem if you're tracking your car and switching pads all the time. For the rest of us, it is a bit much.

Even so, the rebuilts I got are ATE's. Be aware that some parts stores are real specific about the cores and will only trade girling for girling, ate for ate. I was able to get some rebuilds and they didn't care that I was giving them girling for ate.
