I would not take the car across the country but I would do it. Its not 5/7 series nice comfy car but a toy that gets thrashed.

Ever rode on a horse drawn carriage?
But really, if you plan to dd the car probably not the best choice..

solid sf bushings.... not that bad on the street... car is a little noisier and the ride is a lil rougher but not as bad as putting is stiffer springs

i would not want all solid mounts though for a daily... its fun for a toy but for a dd you would have a very unpleasant commute

I might throw down for the solid tranny mounts. Just try try and reduce the chance of a money shift.

My car already feels like its on rails, I dont think having some extra vibration will bother me too much, it might auctually be "stimulating" :)

the bushings would last forever, but would they have any adverse effects on the drivetrain?

For the solid engine mounts you will need to reinforce the sub frame no doubt. Probably have to reinforce the cross member somehow for the tranny mounts too.

well US ellips are low beams but I know what you are tryin to say ;)

My car is for function and I don't really care if people like it or hate it. Sure its cool to think people like the quad ellips or cow catcher on the plastic bumpers but at the end of the day its my car and I drive it so I don't mind if people don't like it. How fun would it be if all the e30's looked the same?

It wouldn't be fun at all since we wouldn't have cars like yours to laugh at!

Why would any of you even put the thought of solid mounts in your mind for your street cars? Are they cheaper than the urethane or rubber mounts? lol

No but they really tighten up the rear end. You almost don't even need a rear sway bar anymore.

I'm sorry that $ is a big prob w/ you TJ, and that you have had to stop modding your car because of it but I don't have that problem. I have something called a job.

What? I make $40-50 an hour. Money is not a problem, I've just been investing in photography gear which is making me more money rather than tossing it at my car.

Solid mounts has nothing to do with sway bars. Sway bars aren't there because we have rubber bushings.

well gosh you aren't to bright. The solid rear subframe mounts stiffen up the rear end some much that you don't really need stiff sways at all, you can almost just unhook them.

That makes absolutely 0 sense. Please ellaborate on exactly why that happens and maybe I will see your point, but sway bars aren't there because there is flex in the subframe.
