Rust on rear trailing arms.

So I had sand blasted a set of rear trailing arms, the rust has eaten away the top and parts of the sides of the spring perch. Am I okay to wrkd in some patches? Or can I get a replacement to weld in? Or should I look for new trailing arms?

Welding on thin rusty crap isn't much fun. I would suggest finding some good used ones if possible.

If AB is as hard to find parts as NS, I'd say cut the nub off and weld a new plate+ similar sized piece of tube on, then cap it off.

It can be hard to find parts here, especially without excessive rust.
If you can't find any locally and decide not to weld I can check the condition of a set for sale local to me. I think he wants $20 a side but I haven't seen them. Let me know

Well I figured why not try welding. Worst that happens is I still have to get new arms. I had some thicker sheet metal that I cut a cap out of. Heated it up and formed it over the old spring perch. Then did a ton of tiny tack welds. And this is what I got, it's not the prettiest. But it's strong and does the job.

With a quick material removal on the inside of the spring pad, it works perfect
