Looking for low dust E30 brake pads

Would like them to stop as good as stock with low dust. For a daily driver with no intention of ever seeing a track. What's the best out there and the best place to buy them?

From reading past posts, Mintex Red Boxes might be what I'm looking for. Do any of you know the best place to buy them?

I had Mintex Red Box, and they dusted like a motherfucker.

Right now I have Hawk HPS Street pads, and not only do they stop on a dime, but I never clean brake dust off of my wheels.

Whats the best combo of stoping power and low brake dust without going into a strictly racing pad?

I would go some other route. I have mintex on my car and will agree with Mr. Anderson, not only do they dust quite a bit, but will not give you the stopping power of stock pads.

BMA auto (local-- Glendale/Burbank area) carries a wide assortment of pads for the E30. Give them a try. I highly recommend you speak to Patrick.

Mr. Anderson, how long have you had the HPS street pads?

          Maybe something Ceramic?

I think Hawk makes a Ceramic pad specifically for people who are looking for a quiet, low-dust pad.

Hawk HPS sound like they are great pads, but they have more performance than I need. How about Axxis Deluxe? Those seem to get good reviews for DD pads, and they are reasonably priced.

Hawk HPS are surprisingly dust-free. I don't know what you mean by more performance than you need? You don't want your car to stop quickly? they aren't overly agressive or anything. they don't even really squeal..

Me personally.... Deep down... As a secret. Love the squeal of brakes! People go crazy like damn doesnt he know when its time to get a brake job. Really though I just hate cleaning my wheels. esp mesh ones...

I find no logic in this reply. They're high performance street pads. They're intended for street use, and will be one of the best you can get.

I'm sorry, but one of my HUGEST pet peeves of all time is when someone asks for advice on what product they should get, gets several answers from knowledgable people, all pointing toward the same product, and then they proceed to argue about why they shouldn't get that product.

Eurospec, I've had them since summer of last year, and did them in conjunction with stainless lines, Powerslot front and Brembo blank rear rotors, and all new fluid, made an amazing difference. I'm totally sold on the Hawks.

I appreciate the advice, I didn't mean to sound ungrateful, and I am strongly considering the Hawks. My remark about the Hawks having more performance than I need is that, from what you're telling me and from what I read in other posts, they perform way better than stock. Nothing is free, and to get low dusting and better than stock performance, I assume that you are going to pay for it. For the type of driving I do with my ic, I'd probably be fine with cheaper pads as long as they had the stock level of performance and low dust. I just don't know if such pads exist.

I just installed Satisfied ceramic pads on the front with Ate slotted rotors and Ate stock pads with Ate slotted rotors on the rear. Need to rebleed the brakes to be able to get a reasonable opinion on the performance, but the website (Tire Rack) shows these as a low-dust pad.

Axxis (ex PBR, ex Repco, ex etc) Deluxe are great pads for a daily driver. Quiet and smooth on rotors. I would also suggest OEM Jurid pads. Get the ones from the Mercedes-Benz 190e chassis as they are usually cheaper and have a stainless steel shield.

Can you swap pads to a different brand without swapping rotors if the rotors are fairly new and not grooved?

Yes, you can swap pads on rotors, unless the rotors are grooved. Then the pad will only have friction on the peaks of the grooves, which could limit the friction surface to only 10%. I also suggest to change front and rear pads with the same type of pads, especially with performance pads.
