well i dont think its going anywhere considering the bracket is made of 304 ss thats .64 in thick and .375 in at the offset, plus the threads are roll tapped. ill be testing it and replying back in teh furture.Last edited by p0cket penguins; 01-19-2009, 08:00 AM.

7075 t6 aluminum roll tapped .... similar design that wilwood uses..
UPDATE... i just tested the brakes out today and there was a considerable difference....yet i feel i might have to re bleed the brakes....

What size rotor? Part number? What offset on the hats? They turned out great btw!

The rotors size and part number
Diameter 298.5mm
Bolt ring 8 x 177.8mm
rotor thickness 20.6mm
part number 160-0471 from wilwood about 30 bucks each
8.1 lb
the offset of hat is 7mm added to the 20.6mm from the rotor and its a total offset of 27.6 mm
I tested a couple hard stops and the brake balance seems to be fine..... yet i have to still throw on new rotors and hawk hp plus pads with ss lines .......PLUS i put a ton of that brake goop on the back of the pad and so far no squeeling padsLast edited by p0cket penguins; 01-21-2009, 07:50 PM.

Your confusing mechanical properties. 304 stainless is much harder than A36 steel, a rockwell hardness of 92 vs. 20. As far as tensile strength the yield strength of 304 vs. A36 is about 30 ksi vs. 36 ksi and ultimate is 75 ksi vs 58 ksi.
Penguins - it looks like things turned out great! Where did yo source the hat? What are your plans for the rear.Comment

fastbrakes.com sourced the hats... so far im running blanks with hp plus and ss lines... the stopping power is muuuch muuuuuuuuch greater than before as is.... i think the next thing is to upgrade the mc to a 25mm

Are you thinking about upgrading the MC due to pedal travel or feel?Comment
