For the control arm? I'd say undoing the motor mounts, and raising the engine up a bit with a jack would be pretty easy. You can get to them from under the car this way. Or you'll need a shit load of extensions.

I'd use a piece of wood between the jack and the oilpan and jack it up from there. As long as there isn't a ton of weight being placed in a tiny spot on the oilpan it should be fine. Thus the 2x4 you would use. It shouldn't really be that bad. It's two bolts for the motor mounts and wammo, you've got easy access to the ball joint.

I'd possibly wait for someone with a bit more experience then me but I'm pretty sure I've got it nailed on the head.

all wrong. 7/16in ratcheting wrench from the bottom. you can use a hammer to loosen it till you can do it with your hand! (i found that out last night.)

ratcheting wrenches kick ass, but don't hammer on them.. start with a regular 7/8" wrench and use the ratcheting wrench to get it the rest of the way off.
