Excuse my ignorance, but i'm looking to buying the Megan coilovers, but there are some that say with 45MM and 51MM. Now this car might see track one day and thats a big maybe. What does that mean and really i just want a nice drop with somewhat good driveability. Any help will be appreciated.
Hi i have an 87325is widebody with esm 002r 16x9 et15 and 16mm spacers and i run 245/45/16 f1s all around. Right now i have roughly an inch between the cartridge housing and the tire/wheel. Will megans clear this setup?? How much bigger are they than the factory cartridge tube? Thanks for the help
Yes megans will clear the setup, but you'll want to be VERY careful when installing. Megans are the same size as the factory cartridge tube if im not mistaking.
Is everyone running these still running preload in the front? I have my preload set at 5mm in the front and the shock is threaded all the way down in the tube which is welded to the knuckle. Can't go any lower. I would assume the only option to make this setup go lower in the front would be shorter shock cartridge and shorter spring?
Your best bet is to run shorter front springs. Please contact me if you need to order some, this will be a good time to change the spring rates if needed as well.
Kind of hard to compare, Unless you buy the full coilover setup from GC the conversion kit is just sleeves and springs. the way your car is going to ride has a lot to do with the shocks you use.
If I buy a set with 5kg/5kg spring rates, is it going to be very soft? I definitely want to stiffen up with this upgrade. They seem to either be in 8k/8k or 5k/5k.
I can't speak for megan, not going to bash them as I don't know. I went GC, they use rate proven Eibach springs, sleeves are made in America and they have an amazing warranty. Just seemed like the right direction to go.
So im going to be purchasing a set of these from fatphos on friday and im woundering about wheel clearance.
Has anybody ran these with xxr521's? The wheels are 16X8 et20. Tires are 205/50r16. Currently the front is pretty close to the strut as is. If these are really any wider near the top of the tire they prolly won't clear. Im sure it's mostly the extra sidewall that these tires use that would cause problems, not so much the wheels.
So, has anybody ran these with the same dimension wheels/tires and needed spacers?

Just got my Megan Racing coilovers from Fatphos, Steady Garage. Man was this guy great to deal with. Customer support A+++!!
I ended up getting 8kg 6" front springs and 8kg rear springs plus 8mm spacers. Kevin was very helpful in the ordering process. Helped me pick the right springs so I won't have to run huge spacers for my wheels to fit. Custom ordering the 6" springs was no hassle and added no time on the delivery. They actually arrived 1 day early but I wasent home.
Super excited to get these installed. Hopefully in a couple weeks me n the guy doing the welding will have a free weekend and we can get these on the car. Then, MORE BOOST!!
