If that's the case, who do I contact to re-valve? Does Koni offer the same thing, re-valving that is? That would be good information to have.sigpic

So I have been adding everything up.....
If I use Koni adjustables in all four corners that's about $550-600 depending on where I source the shocks.
GC kit is $400 as well.
Depending on what I use, caster/camber plates are $350-$400 based on model and brand.
I'll add at the high end to cover shipping costs ect...
shocks (4) $600
GC kit (1) $400
caster camber plates (2) $400
I'm sitting at roughly $1400 for a good setup. Aren't I in the range of some decent coilovers? I know some people don't like the idea of for blown coils in the back because the shock tower would be supporting all the weight......solution
I'm a fabricator and steel is second nature to me. So educate me, I'm not going to go drop 5k on a set of AST's because I'd probably never fully utilize them on this car. But if I could reinforce the shock towers, why not spend around $1000 on some BC coils that I could just slap on, I'd have all the adjustment I would need for what I'd ever use it for........unless I came upon some crazy money in which case I would probably build a whole new car anyways.

Is that your car above? My thoughts are this:
Within budget and will be/do anything you desire. Comes with the rear shock mounts too. Only thing you have to pick is spring rates. Give them a call, ask for Mark or Jay and they will hook you up. Let them know I sent you if you do go for them.
Good thing is you can handle shortening the housings yourself. GC is the best for the money, do you really want to cut all that up to just use a coilover rear design? I only see that if you are HARDCORE track with really wide rear wheels.
BC is not really that good, and try to get spring rates and dampening info from them lol. Tried for a week straight when I was trying to compare for my Buddies GTI. Ended up waiting out for H&R coils.Last edited by F34R; 01-28-2013, 11:16 AM.~ Puch Cafe. ~ Do business? feedback ~ Check out my leather company ~

No it's not my car, it's Zodows hillclimb E30. - http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=271303
I'm kind of a freak, hence the name. Unlike some people, cutting that up, or any other part of the car for that matter wouldn't phase me.....it's just metal.
Thanks for your input though man, I appreciate the non rhetorical educated responses I've gotten from you. Hardcore track you say, wide wheels you say.....maybe I'll do just to make the local Vette and Pony boys piddle a little hahaha.sigpic

vs made in the USA, Germany, and Holland?
I get the "budget" aspect of the ebay stuff, but it's still made in china junk for the most part. Mystery spring rates, mystery shock valving, generic parts adapted to fit an E30.. etc. etc.Comment

Yeah, budget is and isnt a huge factor. Its more of, what am i going to get tge most out of based on cost, and application of the car. Its not going to be a DD, but i want it to be very streetable. Ill continue to do my research and see what i come up with.sigpic

@NandoThat is why I ALWAYS rep Grond Control for suspension.
USA made and the springs are covered through Eibach(Already had a pair replaced for free). The inserts are top end Koni SA that are made in Holland directly FOR Ground Control.
BC is a good budget coilover, but they are never going to live up to Koni inserts and GC's coverage on their OWN parts. Nothing is junk. Whatever path you go is fine because it is your money.
For me it is GC or nothing.
Rears are 17x9 with 235/40, muscle car guys LOVE my rear fitment and tread width. It is just stunning how wide and perfect all that meat is under the arches and not poking out.

Yeah that makes sense, I have a question about the kit, it says. "2 Ground Control / Koni single adjustable strut inserts, bolted into existing housings." So I have to send them my housing?? I can, cut, bolt and weld that myself, will that drop the price or am I getting confused?sigpic

They offer the kit mod, you don't have to send them anything. Just do it yourself, CALL THEM! tell them what you want the car's use to be. They will take care of you.
You want what I built for myself. Take a bit of time and scroll through my build. It is a lot more advanced than a simple bolt on and covers ANY questions you might have. Springs rates, mods improvements etc.
