taking out springs with no spring compressor 100% safe and quick/easy

    1) jack car up take off wheel

    2) use another jack and jack up the control arm

    3) Undo the top central nut at the top of the strut

    4) Slowly jack down the control arm until the spring decompresses completely

    5) Remove the spring and cut the dead coil... i used my dremel

    {dont foget to tie up the strut so its not pulling the brake line and brake lining sensor}

    6) put everything back on in reverse order

    7) put back wheel and done

fyi: labor 15mins or less pure side. didnt even have to use my air tools

Wouldn't you use the same jack after using jackstands, or did you do this whole thing while the car was only on a jack?

I did, it looks like you just left the car on an hydraulic jack, instead of being safe and using jackstands, but then again you hacked up your stock springs and removed it with a floorjack, instead of getting the free spring compressor rental, so...

I would think the whole assembly would be impossible to take out once the spring is decompressed but guess not. Trying this next time my cheap struts fail.

I would think NOT to take advice on tasks that are potentially unsafe from someone who can't spell or use proper gramnar.

Don't do it this way folks. Quit being a lazy fuck and get the proper tools.

same as the ads you post.

anyhow. if you dont like quick and easy as shown then dont hate and keep using the bs cheap compressors that arent safe.

im not here to argue with little kids. just posting a simple diy for other members .

Too bad your diy is unsafe. And doesn't even fucking work with stock springs. The control arm does not drop far enough to let a stock spring expand enough to get out of there. And, if you are saying to unhook the control arm, then you truly are dumber than I thought.

                      You truly are a retard.

Even my lazy un-proofread posts are easier to read than all of yours.

I did it mine the same way as the op. Very easy and saves a lot of time...
You will have to undo the strut incert to remove the spring. I also used jackstands to support the car (op should have used them too).

Op's technique does work, but it needs to be ironed out a bit.

Message to haters: please go into politics you will succeed, since job effectiveness and time/money spent is not something you value.

It's not just about you being under the car, it's also about your low quality Harbor Freight floor jack bypassing and dropping your car on the ground, with no way to pick it back up. It's also about you yanking on stuff, and having the wheels of your jack roll and the car fall off. It's also about me betting you just used the parking brake, and not putting wheel chocks behind the rear wheels, causing the car to roll off the jack. Amirite?
