Limiting factor for suspension droop (downtravel)

When up on jackstands, my driver's side wheel literally droops 3" lower then the passenger side.

I also have a clunking sound from that same corner over bumps.

Could this increase in droop be caused by a blown damper?
What is the limiting factor of the E30's suspension droop?

Is everything hooked up over there? Like the swaybar? Is the shock secured in the strut tube?

Just pulled the wheel off, your first guess was right. Swaybar mount has separated.

A set of AKG Front Swaybar Reinforcement Plates should take care of this yes?

Yeah, you can see where the subframe tore. The AKG bracket should work, although you may want to reinforce the area a bit more since the original tab is already gone. I'm not sure how thick those plates are. Might be worth upgrading to the UUC/Suspension Techniques/etc... style plates that use 2 bolts on each bushing bracket to distribute the load.

Can you post a link to the UUC/Suspension Techniques style plates? I'm having trouble finding them.

You'd need the matching bushing bracket as well. Not sure if anyone sells those parts individually. MY UUC swaybar kit came with them, maybe try contacting them?

Too bad I can't use it with rubber mounts.
Trying to avoid poly and the harshness that goes along with it.

AKG brackets ordered. I'll update after I get them on.

poly is fine for sway bar mounts not harsh at all

I don't think anyone is capable of feeling any difference between a new oem rubber swaybar bushing and a poly bushing.

Yep poly will not increase harshness. The uuc mounts were just knock-off's of the IE mounts.

                        Swaybar reinforcement plates installed.

It was a royal pain to get the original brackets installed with new bushings though.

I would recommend the IE dual bolt bushings rather then deal with the factory design.
