I have been driving without PS for at least the last 5-6 months. I didnt even notice it was gone after the first month. I have 15inch wheels and once I get the car rolling I dont even feel a thing. Although, I have not auto crossed yet without it. Does anyone have an opinion/input on auto X without PS?

I have spaghetti arms and no power steering.... wouldn't have it any other way.

      The feel is incredible.

I'll never go back to power steering, the feeling is so much better without it. And it's not difficult to drive or park at all.

You'll regret taking off PS the first time you drift your car

Bought my car with a broken PS system and the ~30 miles I have driven it have been amazing above 8 MPH. Taking 90 degree turns takes some timing and calculations because of how the braking/ slowing changes the steering feel. I just ordered tons of parts and the condor (UVHM?) PS delete was one of them! Will update once installed. Right now it isn't really difficult per say at low speeds but it sure isn't easy though. 3 point turns for example, with the slow stock rack they suuuck.

I autocrossed without it a few days ago, as everyone has been saying feedback is great and I have no problem with shuffle steering if need be.
I haven't had PS for over a year now, I don't even remember what assisted steering is like in an e30 lol

My car came with a Euro manual rack, I don't know what power steering in an E30 is really like either. I had figured that I would eventually do a Z3 rack and put PS back in it, especially if I eventually S50 swap, but its good to hear the quicker ratio maybe isn't that much more effort.

No P/S is fine for me, except for autocross. I get MASSIVE amounts of what I will call bump steer, but I'm not sure it exactly fits the definition. Off throttle steering, I get kick back over bumps. It may have something to do with running a lot of casteer but it was definitely not as noticeable before I deleted the P/S.

I'm running swapped m20 with stock manual steering rack (euro 316i) + 205/55 and it's totally fine in daily city driving. I feel a lot of bump steer as well.

I DD an 02 which never had PS, its fine until I have to parallel park. Even worse in a stick shift in hilly San Francisco but such is the cost of driving a rad car.

No ps in my racecar (came that way fuh raze!!), but honestly, I think the parasitic hp loss is probably not enough to make up for the ability to steer, and correct, faster and easier during the race. I have had a couple of tank-slappers without ps, and the wheel just spins by itself and your subconscious just tries to grab and reverse it at the right time, and somehow it seems to work out eventually.
I would never purposely delete ps on a street car... but I am sure I would drive with a busted ps for quite a while to avoid the repair work!!

There's a guy on kijiji selling a manual rack for $200... I know it's a rare thing here. Think the price is worth it?
