No alignment shop wants to touch my car

A lady hit my fender in a parking lot and I squeezed an alignment out of her insurance company. So my car was in the body shop and they tried taking it to the alignment shops in town and nobody will do it because my car is too low.

Wtf? How are you guys getting alignments?

    Find a race shop.

You have to find a shop that does racing and works on modded cars that has an alignment rack. I recently tried to get an alignment here by were I live I got shot down because I'm lowered on springs.

Just noticed the typo in my thread header. Will do. Is it going to be more expensive? It's on this lady's insurance company's dime anyways, just curious.

          more expensive?...

          maybe ....maybe not

race shops can be a little pricier...

it doesn't HAVE to be a race shop
I love sitting down and just driving!

you can get a kit to do it yourself if you're ballsy enough. correct me if I'm wrong but the only thing you need to adjust is camber and toe?

If you need an alignment after a wreck, you have bent suspension components. Likely a bent tie rod or control arm, possible a bent strut tube, but that's much less likely.

              How low is your car?

You can't even adjust camber without camber adjustment plates, and the rear is completely non-adjustable without aftermarket parts.

I did a string alignment, it's not perfect but it works, and I am absolutely not paying $100+ for some chain shop tech to spend 20 minutes making a toe adjustment that is just barely in spec on a rack then wasting an hour to make it seem like there was some amount of work worth paying $100 for done.

I did mine with 2 tape measures and 2 pieces of plywood and when I got tires put on at Firestone they checked it for free and said it was all good.

If you want to go the self adjusting route check out Longacre Racing toe plates as they were fairly cheap last I saw them.
