    To be fair, I have seen aftermarket coilovers use an adjustable mount that clamps on similar to this although MUCH more beefier. Your bracket probably won't hold up over time with spirited driving. The stock metal ears on the M3 struts are barely adequate. That's why so many people reinforce them.

        those are also attached to the threaded portion of the strut body, so it's not going to slide up and down on the tube like his fence post clamp.

          First page of this thread had me spewing coffee all over the keyboard. Thanks guys, now I'll never get work done.

          But seriously, why can't you just get some one to weld a tab on to the strut. In the grand scheme of things, it's probably one of the easiest things you could modify on the car that requires a welder.

          Heck, I do it for someone for the price of a sixer of "good" beer.

                        lets review so one guy insinuates that im looking for attention (including this thread i have 38 posts in 5 months) - and the other guy (18,000 posts) is wondering when this thread will die -

                          the concept is ok but the execution is not great, seems like proof of concept though. maybe a market exists for bolt on attachment as it beats the hell out welding unless youre doing a coil over conversion already

                            Achtung=Danger. That execution = danger.

                              I always assumed the word was meant to convey "attention" - but either way OP delivers.

                                yea i would prefer a proper adjustable strut clamp to a weld on tab and adjustable links

                                hey do the struts have to be removed in order to weld tabs ? im wondering if the strut could be heat damaged from welding on housing

                                wait.... u mean achtung means danger ?.... wow... im cooler than i thought )
