    Triangulated Front Strut Brace

Anyone built or found a strut brace that ties back to the firewall? I'm planning to build one but would like to know if anyone has had success bolting it into the blower cover box. I'm not sure the area is stiff enough to take chassis loads, but I'd really like to provide some triangulation to the front of my car since it doesn't feel like it has much torsional rigidity.

I've thought about this. That area isn't strong enough.

I was up above it, Now I'm down in it ~ Entropy - A Build thread.

we had one in our lemons car. I booger welded it to the scuttle panel. I don't think it did anything.

the blower cover is mounted with 4 m6 coarse thread screws into plastic retainer nuts, into 18ga non-structural sheet. it won't hold anything.

        brace

Try the Mason e30 triangulated brace. I had one on my ic which normally has some front end shimmy due to lack of a roof. That brace (under the engine) combined with his shock tower brace will solve your front end problem.

Thanks for the tip. Looks like that one sold, but I bet I can build something similar. I'll give it a shot.
