Any way to go lower in the front with IE III springs?

I want to bring the front end of my car down a little more, is there any way to do it while keeping my IE III's? Can I do something like deeper spring hats?

Just get a set of hats, and cut/weld it 3/8 to 1/2 inch deeper. Since the production drop hats are NLA.

I think I read somewheres (like r3v) that Vorshlag plates will drop another 1/2" off the front... people will say that is stupid and you should just get GC's. Not me though. Think about it... how often do people change the ride height once they have it set? Try the plates, as drop hats apparently suck ass and you just can't get good 60/40 springs like back in the day.

Disclaimer: I have never driven on Vorshlag's or Bekkers, etc. I just spend entirely too much time reading shit on this forum.

Coils are used for ride height adjustment by default. Their original application is for adjusted travel/spring length and to corner balance.

What would you be looking at as far as compensation for said task?

Will that effect shock travel? Maybe it would be a good idea to use shorted shocks?

                    Just wondering...

Yes you do lose a half inch or so of shock travel. And yes shortened shocks would be a very good idea but this was a quick and cheap way to beat the IE rake while I gather parts for coilovers.

JOSH, I just had an epiphany.

You have IE3's = higher front, lower rear.

On late models, that is corrected by switching to H&R Race. Since the IE3s are replicas of the H&R Race, just made by Eibach.

I am an H&R whore, along with many other kinds of whoredom, and damn proud of it too!

This thread just proves once again, that IE3's suck donkey cock. :)

i have seen a couple pics of late models with H&R race and they look to have the same reverse rake as the IE3...

PS: you have a set of H&R race to sell?

this is going to turn into a IE3 vs H&R race thread.

H&R race, bilstein sports, super thin pads on the front, standard on rears. 17" wheels. all new suspension bits.

                              no reverse rake here.
