do i have to use a new nut when doing strut bearing?

im doing offset strut bearings and camber plates tonight, and i forget... do you have to use a new nut for when i remove and reinstall the strut bearing? thank you!

Yeah, just go and get a new nylock one from a hardware or autoparts store. Napa usually has a ton of metric ones with different thread-pitches.

The ETK will say. If I were to guess I'd say 12mm 1.5 thread pitch.

The nut is 19mm, but I don't know the pitch. I have reused mine like 20 times now, unless the nylon on yours looks bad just reuse it.

Yeah, 19mm is the outside diameter. 12mm is the inside diameter, which is how they measure the nuts.

If you can find the correct size for the nut, I'd go ahead and get some if you can find them.

by the time i got to replacing the nut, every store was close, so i re-used it, it will be fine. im 3/4 through everything now, and i only started 2 hours ago :) I dissasembled each front side in about 20 minutes, assebly took another 45 minutes (I had to wait for a buddy to bring over a socket i lost out of my set) now re-assebly of the passenger side took about 45 minutes, im gonna do the drivers side after i eat real quick, its already dark, so whatever. camber plates and offset strut bearings are sweet, i think they'll be good. This is the first time i've done the suspension myself, i have to say im proud that I havent run into any problems or got lost at all. feels good to be able to do things like this on my own...

you can order them from the dealer, they are cheap. you'll be fine with your old ones for now, but I wouldn't leave it that way forever.

finished a couple hours ago, the camber plates added juuuuuuuust enough height (about 1/3 of an inch) to stop the rubbing on the new tires, im happy about that. everything went well, would be nice to have an extra set of hands on a project like that though. thanks for your help guys!

I actually bought these nuts from the dealer. It was $4.97 for both. They should have them in stock since they are a fairly common size.
