Offset for 16x8? Give me ideas please

I was thinking of running a 16x8 wheel with a 225 width tire. I was trying to get an idea of what offset I should try to get. I want the wheel/tire to be pretty flush with the fender for optimal stance. My guess is a 20mm offset? but I am not sure...Any ideas???

What year is your E30? The earlier cars (87s and before) have a different shape/size to the rear wheel arches which can accommodate fatter rubber more easily than the newer cars (i.e. plastic bumpers).

This guy's on the ball. You will likely still have to do just a bit of minor rolling on at least one fender though.

Its hard to find a 16x8" wheel in such a smaller offset.

BBS RS003 16x8" has an offset of ET12. 16x7.5" is ET19. 16x7" is ET25.

16x7" is stock size, the other two sizes above will have to be custom made with larger lips bought from Kodiak...

I personally am trying to get 16x8" BBS RS003's and roll the fenders as stock looking as possible, but at ET12 I dunno...

I just found this E30 actually...BBS RS001 with 16x8.5" with an offset of ET22.

16x9" in ET15 in the rear. Thats just about perfect. Link to other pictures below...

Those RS001's are simply the best wheels for the E30 IMO! Too bad they cost near as much as my E30 also. :x

I think you got that backwards. With a ET20 offset, the wheels are being pushed out farther (towards the fender's edge). Running something like a ET30 offset would pose the rubbing-against-the-strut issue.....not to mention tuck the wheels inside the fender wells.

Someone validate this.....I'm OD-ing on acetaminophen.

So I am getting some mixed signals...


Et20 or Et15? I am going to run 16x8 with 225 width tires...and i will slightly roll the fender as needed.

I see a pic above of the conv. e30 and the front is 205 on 8.5inch wide and it isnt stretched too bad. So I was thinking a 205 or 215 on 8inch wouldnt be a bad stretch.
