    16" alpinas. best offset question

ok so i've been working with a company for a while that builds custom wheels and i mentioned its a shame nobody builds a 16" alpina for a reasonable price because my buddy would be interested in a set for his E30 build. well long story short... he contacted me and said he can make 16x7/8 4x100 alpinas. heres the deal. they would be a forged billet center welded into a stepped lip hoop. my question is, whats the ideal offset for this set up? thanks guys

I would say ET20, because it would give people the option to run spacers to get a flush offset without going to extremes, or just to run them as is, with a meaty tire.

option is the best to go IMO. But that also means you have to make covers and a way to get them to stay on.

edit... I have an extra set of covers, and original alpinas, in both open lug and with covers. If you need pictures, specs, glad to help/lend.
