Well, like I said, you'd make a great lawyer. As for the strut assembly thing, yes it was me. I was HUMBLE enough to admit that momentary lapse of reason. I meant from the fender not strut housing itself. I do recall you jumping on the gun to point that out. Surely you've made some slip ups before, as you type doing other things at the same time? I'm sure your ego ain't that big. I hope not. It is the root of all evil afterall.

Watching this movie on tv, and this laptop in front of me,....I need an aspirin now.

Well it was a pleasure chatting with you. We MUST do this again sometime. I wish you a good night.

I wasn't the one to point out your mistake in the other thread. I never posted in that thread, but remember browsing it. So I'm not sure exactly what you're "recalling" but it isn't the first mistake you've made, now is it ;)

I admit mistakes if i make them, but I make it a point to only post if I actually know what I'm talking about or have solid experience on the matter at hand, therefore minimizing mistakes that can be made. But if I'm busy doing something else at the time and slip up with typos, I catch them with a quick proof-read if the discussion is relatively technical and I'm trying to convey specific information.

        Bravo.

I still stand by every word I wrote. Based on my own solid experiences. We'll let others decide on the facts for themselves. That is what forums are all about. This is not a competion of E30 knowledge. It is for people to read different point of views and approaches. There is NO such thing as a Bible on cars. To life yes, but not cars. As far as tire fitments are concerned, I'll listen to the engineers who disigned them first, before anyone else, as to what wheel width should fit to what size tire. However, there might be some small loopholes around the manufactuters specs. Like the 7.5in E36 fitment. I'm very tempted to be quite honest with you. to call Toyo up, and ask for an engineer, and ask him/her why they don't recommend the 235-40-17 on the 7.5 inch. Curious to hear their answer.

As for the 16X9 inch fitments, going back to 4 years ago, to make a LONG story short, I had a shop with their modern equipment, try and mount a 225-45-16 on my 9X16's. It wouldn't work. I was so disgusted with the situation, that I ended up buying 245-45-16, and ditched the front 16X9's altogether, and bought 16X7.5's with 225-45-16.

To this day, I was disgusted and haunted with that ordeal, as I was never happy with the 245-45's' in the rear. Too tall! It was about 1 month after I bought those tires, that I found out that 225-40-16 would have fit on the 16X9's. Not the 45 series. By the way, Stu McHenry (I know his dad, as he built my engine, has seen my setup....). I actually just bought a new set of 17X8's wheels from "E30 2 Envy," as I've had enough with the 16X9 thing altogether. I plan to run either 235-40-17's all around or 245-35-17. Had those wheels been 17X7.5, not 17X8, I would not have bought them......regardless of what E36 M3 guys are fitting. Besides, if you go on the E36 forums, it seems (and I may be wrong here), that E36 guys are ditching their 17X7.5's for 17X8.

Lucky I was trying to watch the spaghetti western For a Fistful of Dollars on tv, as this exchange was somehow going on. From my end anyways.

I'm with Chris- I have a feeling he has forgotten more about e30s than you'll ever know (not calling you old or anything chris) :)

Nick325is i just love the way this thread turned out for you. Members here are all e30 owners and fanatics to help each other out for different projects, technical advice, and hanging out. What i can't understaind, is you ask for some technical advice, many have reply'd with some intresting info and here you have some member named C ///M, coming out of no where and has nothing alse better to do but to attack other members in a very undiplomatic way. Who the hell does he think he is, and what does he need to prove himself that he's a complete idiot!!! Not only does he attack r3v members but canadian e30 owners. This has gone to far, i would never generalise and insolt american e30 owners like this. I hope other canadian e30 owners would see this and that american e30 owners would see how much of an ass this guy is. Bmwdude has help me lot's, he is a very good source for me when it comes to e30's. And honestlly this guy learn much from american bmw owners specially from one man wich has more experience with e30's than all of us kids. I myself have 16x9 wheels on the back, i'm using toyo's T1 S 225/40/16, whe have tried fitting 225/45/16 the guys went crazy never got them in as the toyo chart spec said.

Hey asshole, learn to read a little bit before you make judgements about who initiates aggression in a thread. It seems that being rude is the ONLY thing that is understood or grabs the attention of your immature, childish attitude. You kids resort to childish BS and it seems the only way you can understand a point is using your own "language".

              1. I answered this thread's topic correctly, with more knowledge than any who had posted prior, and did it in a concise fashion.

              2. Your friend replied with hostility, calling my statements untrue and "stupid" with absolute no data backing his statement except for his pathetic "toyo spec sheet".

Let me ask this question, do you or your friend bmwdude have ANY experience with this thread's topic (17" wheels and tires)...No, so why are you posting? This is not a discussion about 16 inch wheels or tire sizes. You, like bmwdude, do not have the necessary knowledge to answer this thread. I answered it, and it is now over.

Also, stop talking about Toyo, what has Toyo got to do with this thread. As it seems, both you and bmwdude have absolutely no experience with anything besides Toyo and your awesome "same as the dealers get" spec sheet.

Again, please learn to read a thread to see who initiated the aggression before you put your foot in your mouth. You continue to backup my experience with Canadian e30 owners. Jay and Randy seem to be the only canadian e30 owners (past or present) that have seemed to have the social skills of an adult and some decent grasp of knowledge. Until people like you stop reinforcing my experiences, I will form that opinion.

I assume from both your postings that both you and bmwdude are still just kids that read some stuff on the internet and think they know something.

All-in-all, you can think whatever you like about whatever you want, it is in fact, the internet, and I'm not going to waste any more time on this thread.

It make s me feel sad that I had to resort to "lowering" myself intellectually in order to be able to communicate. The only reason why I got hasty and called your #2 statement stupid, and VERY uncharactersitic of me to do this by the way, because it was in fact you who initially called everyone's statements worthless. I don't like arrogance at all, very simply put. In fact, I detest it. I do apologize for calling your #2 statement stupid, and to everyone else who MAY have taken my remarks to you, out of context, but I don't regret the feeling of negativity, of you calling everyones statements worthless.

Having said that, I couldn't help but doing a "search" of your name in the "author" field, and seeing that you seem to have a habit of finger pointing and accusing others of being unknowlegable.

I was also amazed to see that you got in quite a big arguement with Jordan of all people, the man who owns this forum. Even he accused you of your arrogance, and even threatened to ban you off this forum.

In any case, based on what you said in a previous thread somewhere, I do wish you luck in school, and the degree you are studying, and hope (as you wrote), that you do get serious, graduate, and perhaps even buy that house one day. Take care my friend.

You both need to chill out guys. bmwdude I do think your explanation was kinda hard to understand, still gives c///m no right to be an ass though just cause he didn't read it right.

P.S. c///m I really do think your an ass, how about you try and be nice to people for a change even if you don't agree with what they are saying. All it does is make them deffensive.

Chris, quit wasting your time here man, nobody is going to appreciate any of the work you've done.
In time we all get fed up with ignorance, and consequently get fed up with r3v... stick it to locals/shops/BY, etc. Nobody else will take you seriously it seems.
                    Just not worth your time/effort

Bump from the dead. I read this thread and it confirmed my suspicions on running the 235/40-17. Thank you Chris! :) Great bitchfest in pages 2-4!
