Is this sarcasm?
Why would re-drilled wheels of any kind be worth MORE after?
These wheels are a lot in their current bolt pattern. They just need to be refinished. And I'm sure you could get away with using e36 parts for a 5-lug swap so it doesn't cost $2k.
Hell, if you could find a set of RS211's in a junkyard for $110, I'm sure you'll find a brake and suspension setup from an e36 m3, 318ti, or z3.

Thats what i was thinking. they have a few e36 325i's laying around (would they work?) but no 318ti/z3/m3 yet. i figure i'll just wait for a great deal. i mean i dont really have any money right now anyway so waiting isnt a problem for me.sigpic

so i'm thinking about polishing the lips but the guys at the wheel shop advised me to not take the wheel apart. is it difficult to get it back together and centered without any leaks?sigpic

the amount of speculation, hearsay and misinformation in this thread is exceptional.
hacking up a set of RSs to redrill them isn't going to help their value at all, in fact i think it will probably harm it.
your best options for retaining the value of the wheels and also getting them on your car would be adapters or 5-lug suspension. it doesn't sound like you are a slammed/stretch type guy, and small tires would be your best hope to get them on there with adapters, and even then it's not going to be ideal at all.
5-lug is expensive, and if you go the more affordable route (e36) you're still going to have issues making these fit, since the track will be so much wider.
if i found a set of $110 RSs in that fitment in the junkyard i would buy them, give them a light refurb without fully disassembling them and flip them on BFC for $700. then i'd put that towards some wheels i had a realistic chance of making fit my car and looking good.Comment

^well i have 5 lug swap in the mail, but the question is whether or not its a good idea to disassemble the wheels for a refurb? I am mechanically inclined and have all the tools/patience required to do it properly. i just want to know if they bolt together with all 3 pieces centered, or if their is "play" that could would put them out of balance. and would i need new gaskets for them?sigpic

it's a lot of work to refurb them, but centering them is not one of the concerns. they only fit together one way, it will be obvious once you take them apart. they don't have gaskets in them, you'll need to strip all the old sealant and apply new sealant...there's a ton of BBS refurb guides online, just search on google.
completely changing your suspension and brakes for a set of wheels is pretty hardcore. especially since the fronts will be bustin out of the fenders bigtime once you get everything on there.Comment
