Hold on a second. If I need to run ANY sort of spacer, I don't want 'em. That's the whole point - to run real 225/50R15's without any problems.

I run 225-50-15's on an early chassis without issues. They are Koesis 15x7 et 27 and they are tight to say the least. I would have preferred something closer to a 22-24 but they were not available.

I found a set of RZ but they aren't cheap, seller wants a decent amount.

So 15x7 et27 and 15x8 et22 will fit an e30 without any spacers/rings or anything? What if it is lowered, any difference? Advantage of getting an 8" versus 7" wide wheel?

As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.
You don’t want this. You want the trickiest, most dangerous, oldest model you can find. Only then can you prove to the world that you’re a man.

whats the pricing like on the 16x7.5's. Looking for a direct fitting wheel so custom drilled is perfect. i'd try to pull of et32 on my ix, it would be tight, but it may work.

is 7.5 wide the ideal size to run 225's on? or is it 8. I'd guess 8.

I have a set of crappy 711's in that size for DD and a set of Bridgestone's Tires are very subjective. I suggest you try something out for yourself.

There is nothing wrong with running spacers on the track.

The pricing is $199 per wheel, and that is for everything, get a hold of doc at tirerack and he will get it for you.

Please, enlighten me on what is wrong with them. I know plenty of people that run them on the track.

Exactly, I know consider amount of people who do also. Heck if they are Tuv legal for public roads in Germany where speeds can be higher than some tracks here in the US, there should be no issue.

Stigma about them is some people over the years that have run them have forgotten to TQ their wheels properly in place causing a tire to bounce by them while they crash. AKA urban legend.... My $.02 on the matter.

I have some 8mm Trak hub centric units that I use. Never have had an issue with them.

Okay, so you run spacers if you want. It's still cheaper and better to run wheels that fit perfect than having to buy other wheels + spacers + studs.

Ok, mr. smarty pants, would you pay more to run spacers on the track? I know you don't, since you have the right wheels, but would you?

I'd figure the cost of spacers or rings into the total cost of wheels. And probably buy the wheels I wanted most.

I'd prefer a direct fitting wheel, i.e. Team Dynamics, or something. Or my Borbets. But what I wanted: light and cheap, was found in the Kosei K1s, so I lived with hubcentric rings.

If you can get wheels for $300 and spacers for $150, or wheels that are direct fit for $500, and the resulting offset is the same, the combined weight is the same.... what the difference?
