        Whats your plan for them?

Thats a good size for winter use, but if your looking for a factory replacment go with 195 65 14's. If you looking for improved handling/performace by ways of a wider tire, go with 205 60 14's

those are way too small. try something with a higher aspect ratio.. like 185/70-14. even 195/60-14s are small (I wish I had gotten 195/65).

They are too short though. As Nando says, 185/70 is a better size.

195/60 was the original OEM size for the E30 then they bumped it up to 195/65.

What do you mean by "bad" for your car?? It won't hurt or damage anything- it will make you speedo read incorrectly- so be aware of that- though in this case, the speed you are actually travelling will be lower than that shown on the speedo.

Wouldn't it be the other way around though?

The time it takes for the wheel to rotate 360 would be less but the speedo doesn't know that.

I run those little tires. they suck, my speedo is off, my rpm's are too high on the freeway. They look really dumb in the big wheelwell. but they were free with lots of tread...

That is the same reason I was interested. They are brand new and free.. guess I'll just wait it out and buy the right ones.
