My New Wheels - Your thoughts?

I came across these wheels on ebay and ended up getting them for $300. Personally, I think they are close to the perfect wheel for an e30, particularly for the price. Anyway, they are 16x8 (if measured from the outside edge - 16x7 if measured from inner tire bead - someone let me know what is right). A three peice design and relatively light. I weighed them in at 17.5 lbs each.

I feel like a 16" wheel is the best all around size for both looks and performance. Sure a 15 will perform better, but not look quite right. Also, anything bigger than 16 starts to look too low profile, IMO.

So what are your thoughts. I don't think it's possible to find a less expensive three peice wheel with that kind of lip in this size. I'm pretty happy with them, and in the end, thats all that matters.

    Here's a link to the auction. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT
The pictures don't really do justice. Also, I'll need to straighten one wheel and clean and polish the others.

Here's a link to other pics of them. http://www.wheelspecs.com/specs/wheelmodels/370

Now all I need is some spacers etc.

    I'd run those.

I don't know they look pretty BBS to me. You will definitely have to run spacers though, at least 10mm maybe 15. I'd run 'em.

You must live a pretty sad life to never have anything positive to say about anything or anyone else's car but your own. You know, there's plenty of room to criticize others, especially when one overrev's an engine and can't get a head gasket to seal. The role of the critic is easy. Try taking the road less traveled. You'll be a happier person in the end.

Also, as to the comment that the offset would make them look gay, did I not mention running spacers to get the right offset. Some people amaze me. And to think I hesitated to start this thread for fear that only the critics would comment.

Why do you even bother replying to posts like that?

I think the wheels look pretty good. With the right spacers and tires, they'll look great.

Fuck the naysayers, especially the ones with chrome 18s and neon underbody kits.

I'll be interested to see what they look like on an e30. My main hesitation in buying those is that after you have paid for the wheels, shipping, and spacers you could have bought something with the proper offset that would look as good or better.

I didn't have to pay shipping. Picked them up and paid 300 cash.

I saw the opertunity. I took it. Plenty of others will share the opinion, but not say so. Its my job.

What engine have I ever overreved, and what head gasket failed to seal? Someone here is ignorant, but please do elaborate.

For $300 they aren't that bad. Kinda heavy for 3 piece rims, but 16" is indeed the best size on non-M E30's I agree. I am fairly sure those are 16x7".

I Do like the style of em'. Ofcourse I like to see a pic on a e30 too. ;)
Maybe they'd look better w/ no centercaps

                          3-piece wheels are always heavier.

I don't mind those wheels at all, I'd run them. SSR = good. Wheels are always 0.5" wider measured to the edges, so I'd wager those are 7.5" wide. 15mm spacers, refinish them, and you're set.

an upgrade from bottlecaps but not from weaves IMO.

they look okay.. I've seen much worse. I probably wouldn't buy them myself, but with some spacers and decent tires they will look fine.
