    Wheel Stripping

Okay, so hears my delima. I am in the process of refinishing this set of wheels, but the insides are quite clung to by ann the crap that accumulates. I basically want to know what the liquid equivilant of media blasting. I want these back to bare metal before I begin to paint. I understand I will not be painting the inside of the wheels but I want it all out anyway.

    Equivalent?

Equivalent? None that I know of. If bead blasting is too expensive in relation to the value of the wheels, I would forget about the back side.

defenitely not worth it on these. they are going to just be swapped for my bottle caps because they need to go. They are going to get a rattle can refinish on the outsides. no need in spending too much time on these

                Digging the wheels.

And I read a writeup where it recommends paint stripper, but it says don't use a wirebrush, because it'll scratch the finish? Any truth to this?

i could see it scratching the finish but when did it i sanded the lips and plolish them up some and painted the centers black. so i wasnt to worried. i used a hand wire brush also. but the stripper really does most of the work. unless there have some powder coat on them. then it might be tough *shrug*

Easy-Off oven cleaner in the yellow can. Works great as a paint/anodizing stripper. Wear gloves though, the stuff is nasty.

Aircraft stripper and a powerwasher. I redid my Euroweaves this way. Lot of work but worth it.
