Okay, so hears my delima. I am in the process of refinishing this set of wheels, but the insides are quite clung to by ann the crap that accumulates. I basically want to know what the liquid equivilant of media blasting. I want these back to bare metal before I begin to paint. I understand I will not be painting the inside of the wheels but I want it all out anyway.

Equivalent?
Equivalent? None that I know of. If bead blasting is too expensive in relation to the value of the wheels, I would forget about the back side. -

Digging the wheels.
And I read a writeup where it recommends paint stripper, but it says don't use a wirebrush, because it'll scratch the finish? Any truth to this?

i could see it scratching the finish but when did it i sanded the lips and plolish them up some and painted the centers black. so i wasnt to worried. i used a hand wire brush also. but the stripper really does most of the work. unless there have some powder coat on them. then it might be tough *shrug*Comment

Easy-Off oven cleaner in the yellow can. Works great as a paint/anodizing stripper. Wear gloves though, the stuff is nasty.Comment
