How do 225/50/15 fit on 15x7 et28 wheels? Car running has H&R/Billy sports, early model with tall rear arches. Is it a tight fit? Or should I stick to 205/55/15?1990 332i, 4 door

Hey guys, I have some 7x15" wheels that I want to swap lips to 8x15".
The seller told me they're ET30, but that seems like bullcrap because I measured the backspace and it is 115mm, which should mean they're 7x15" ET13.
They have a 1.5in lip, so I've been looking at 2.5in lips to swap. If my calculations are correct, this would make the wheel 8x15" ET0.
Is this offset too agressive for track wheels? My intention was to run 225/45 tires, I'd be ok with 205/50 though.
No worries about the front fenders, I have fiberglass ones, not sure about the rear, though they're already rolled.
Thoughts?Byron

I could tell if I hadn't been stupid enough to never test fit them to the car.
What I did was went here http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp, set it to 15 x 7 and changed the ET until the backspace read 115mm (which I measured in reality).
That says ET13.
Then When I change to 15 x 8, I have to go to ET0 to get the 115mm backspace.
Because changing the lip size won't have effect on the backspace.
I did a lot of reading last night and this setup 15 x 8 x 4.5in backspace is like the Diamondracing steelies some people here have done. There's also a red coupe with 15x8.5 ET6 BBS RS's, which should be the same "stance", regarding the fenders. And it looks great. I was hoping to get fat tires on them, oh well, I can sell 'em if all else fails.Comment

Kind of a backwards question... I know what tires I want to run and I just want to see if they will actually fit and to try to spec wheels to fit them.
325es
e30 M3 front suspension
e30 M3 or Mcoupe rear suspension(havnt decided yet)
want to run 255/40-17 or 255/35-18 o at the least 245/40-17 yokohama Advans A048 or AD08 on all 4 corners
I am obviously willing to roll fenders or pull them but how much? I am looking into the e46 sedan flares as well. What rim widths and offset could possibly fit these tires? Rims are going to be a custom affair if there is a chance.
Why? Because horsepower.... and I want to keep a square setup.e30sport.net

Outside isn't the concern, it's the front struts. Some 225s will work, some won't. You will need a 3mm front spacer (keep the stock bolts) for the beefy ones.Comment

In that case I may opt for 205/55/15 fronts with 225/50/15 in the rear. Would I notice any strange handling characteristics by running this stagger? I'm not looking for overly aggressive tires either, it is a DD car. Currently I'm on a 205/50/15 square setup with Falkin Azine rt-215's and find it too much tire for a daily. Noise and rough ride are very present.1990 332i, 4 door

I like your thinking. 17x8.5 +25 is about perfect for the 255s (disclosure: I erred on the side of caution, they will be close to the struts. You can go +20 to make sure you'll never have to run a spacer with any tire fitted but obviously fender clearance is even worse). You'll need a good amount of front camber (-3) and a decent pull on the rear arches. Nothing outlandish, just a slight flaring of the lip. Obviously stiff spring rates are in order; I wouldn't go under 500/650 F/R.

Being offered a set of wheels that "look" perfect for my DD application. How does 15x6.5 Offset: +40mm, Backspacing: 5.31" fit? I'd imagine all I'm fitting on those is 205/55. Does that offset/tire work for a near flush fit, or would I require spacers?
Thanks!Comment
