Just roll that rear lip man. Use a heat gun on it for about 2 mins, then use the roller to gradually flatten the lip. There is little to no risk if you use a heat gun liberally and work slowly. Original paint is actually a benefit.

Yes all of the methods you mentioned will also get rid of the rubbing (more camber, machining the wheels, running the DS2), but really, just roll 'em! If you are still uncomfortable I'd add camber first, as it's free and has little downside.
Yup, same guy, same cars :)

Thanks for the advice...I'll see if I can get it sorted out. I'm gonna try the camber first...

You should be okay, but if they fall of it's not on me. :p

Seriously though just re-check them with a torque wrench frequently for the first couple weeks, but I don't foresee any issues.

I am looking at getting a set of these and I am trying to figure out tire sizing, I would love to get the Z1's in 225/50R16 but I am wondering if they are going to fit. I am getting the car painted in October so I am not afraid to aggressively roll the fenders if I need to. Are these going to fit?

In regards to my '89 325is, looking at wheels that are 16x8.5 et32 and 16x9.5 et45 need to run adapters and I know they're sold in 18mm, 20mm, and 25mm; I think I would run a 25mm in the rear and a smaller one up front. Which ones should I run? How do you think these final offsets will look?

Im looking at some 8x17 et15 wheels and thinking 215/40/17 should be about right, but maybe I can go bigger. What do you think?

They "can" work, but you will always scrub the front wheel well while turning. It's inevitable, they are just too tall. If you're willing to put up with that as well as have the fenders aggressively pulled front and rear, they will "fit".

No spacers at all, they will fit very nicely. I'd go 205/40 front and 225/35/17 rear (or 215/40 for more tire choices) with flatly rolled rear fender lips.
