What would be the best tire size? 205/45/16? I know it says don't ask for specific brands or types of tires, but I'm no good with differentiating tires so it would be nice if someone could recommend some good tires

    205/50 215/45 225/45 are all good.

Rank these attributes in order of importance to you:

    Dry traction
    Wet traction
    Hydroplaning resistance
    Ride quality
    Noise
    Treadwear

More than a roll, you will have to push the rear arches out to a pull. I do not recommend 8" +0 wheels. The fronts will be about an inch outside of the arches. yes, you will need 67-57.1 rings.

The rep just got back to me and said the 7.5x17 is available in et25 (same offest as the rear running 8.5x17).. Do I still need the 15mm spacer?

not needed to clear the strut anymore.

            Wheels:

BBS RS035 and RS037 (originally 5x114.5 and redrilled to 4x100)
            16x7 and 16x8 ET 24 all around

I somehow think these will require a spacer to clear my struts, as I'm running GAZ coilovers front and rear (rear is a true coilover, no inboard springs).

Any advice for the above setup as far as spacers (if needed) or tire recommendations? I don't mine a little bit of poke, so fender rolling/pulling is an option.

I also wanted to look into perhaps running the 16x8 wheels on the front and buying a larger lip for the 16x7's and slapping them on the rear. The fronts have a 1" lip right now and the rears seem to have 1.5" from my rough measurements (barrels are larger on rears).

So would going from 16x7 ET 24 with a 1" lip to a 2.5" or 3" lip still fit on the back? What would the new offset be?

            TIA

Can I put 225 width tires on the back and 215 on the front?
What about sidewall? Should I get the smallest sidewall possible or the thickest?
How about 40 or 50 for the sidewall?
Car is just used as a daily driver for now.

You could, but why? These cars need as much front tire as possible IMO, and there's quite a bit more tire clearance in the front anyway. You'll also need 10-15mm spacers to fit those wheels/tires.

You also want to keep the tires as close to 24" as possible. 215/50 225/50.
Ok, so i'll do 225/50 on both the front and rear. Why do I need 10-15mm spacers though? Will I not be able to clear the brakes or will it scrape the wheel well or what? I would have thought that the spacers would make the tires too close to the fender therefore making them scrape against the fender. Should I go with the 10 or the 15 mm spacers? Thanks for your help.

For coil clearance, I have zero experience with a true rear setup. You'll be test-fitting for that one.

                    16x8.5 +4
                    16x9 -1

The 8.5 is a more realistic choice. 9" is possible with a slight fender pull and 205s.

If you put the 16x8s up front you will need a spacer to clear the struts.

Because without them the wheels will be parked onto the front struts.

If you want 225s and do not want to roll the fenders, 10mm is required.

Even a 215/40 will rub badly in the rear. The tire size you are able to run completely depends on how willing you are to work the fenders. Without rolling, 205/40 stretched is the largest you will be able to fit.

Great, concise summary of your (unique) car specs. Thank you.

0 offset. You may be able to get away with +5, but 0 should be safe with R-comps.

Ok, then should I run a 17x8 square setup and would 235/40 work?

It seems Kaliboy runs ET 20 Style 5 with 235/40 on E30 M3 setup so just want to get some confirmation before I buy a whole set of tires...

Thanks! Looks like some test fitting is in order...then I'll decide soon on what to do as far as a larger lip on the rear.
