No, they won't work well at that offset (assuming you mean 17x8 +20 E39 Style 5s).

I live in Calif and won't be driving the car very much in the rain. I don't want a super soft tire but I don't need to get 40K miles out of them either. A tire that feels the road and is fun to drive is my goal. Hope this helps. I would like to keep the price per tire under $150 if possible but if the best tire for my needs is slightly over that price it would be ok.

          Cheers,

          Jim

We're referring to the 205/50, right?

With your dry traction and response goals you will have to sacrifice treadwear. Around 15-20k can be expected. You can offset this by purchasing one of the less expensive options: Falken RT-615K, Hankook R-S3, Kumho XS. All of these are phenomenal and will pretty much transform any E30.

Rear fenders will have to be pulled, fronts a flat roll. Car will also need to be much, much lower than H&Rs to pull off that setup. 205/50 all around.

Jim also check into NITTO NEO-GENS' 205/50/15 HR/VR. 15-20K These tires worked bitchin for me daily driving to work and canyon spirited driving.

I've got a set of 15x7, 40mm offset Team Dynamics Pro Race 1 wheels I want to use on my '91 318is. I've got 3 sets for my MINI (2006 R53) and would like to be able to get a little crossover between the vehicles in my household. :D I currently have basketweaves and finding suitable tires for the track in 14" looks to be an almost impossible task. 15" isn't all that much better, honestly…

I did some test fitting on the driver's side front with the new Dunlop DZ101 tire I got for my MINI yesterday. 205/55-15. I cobbled together a 6mm spacer from some aluminum and it still wasn't enough to clear the strut, so I think I need at least a 10mm spacer. I haven't tried the back, yet. If I can keep this thing running long enough, I may end up running dedicated track tires, in which case I'd probably go as wide as 225.

The car's been lowered by the previous owner; it's on Bilstein shocks, H&R springs (I think). I don't know how much it's been lowered, but it's not obscene. It's on 205/60-14 Yokohama ES100s right now.

The wheels have a 73.1mm centerbore, so I need to use centering rings.

What spacers do I need to get these wheels to fit with 205 (and ideally 225) rubber? What length lug bolt do I need?

                                Hey J,
                                Im looking for a little more info on fitting a 225/50 on a 15x8 et 20(trm c1)..
How much fender work is needed? Im already rolled and slightly pulled all around. Im on coilovers and have camber plates in the front.... Because I know some brands might be wider or not.. Im specifically looking at the g-force sport in that size...
                                Thanks man,
                                Andrew
