need opinion. Im buying new tires, and the goal with these is to achieve maximum flushness. Suspension is coilovers in the front, Springs in the rear. So the rear can't be adjusted up and down like the fronts.. I appreciate the help!
I came down to either 195/40/16 or 195/45/16
My wheels are 16x9 ET15

In my opinion having the /40/ will give you a tiny bit more room to achieve that flushness. On the other side the /45/ might help you fill in the rear better seeing as you cant adjust it, just a thought.

Look at the gentlemen above this post with the 16x9 +15. If you want a stretched look, no less than a 195 and no more than a 215 size tire. A fender roll would be beneficial to you as well with an aggressive setup like that. Also, I would ask you to get some second opinions from some of the other gurus in here though.

Thanks a lot, so just to bug you once more, 215 is the widest I can get away with with these offsets? I need to cut out the quarters and weld in fresh steel so working them over is no problem, worst case I will buy an E34 to put them on :)

If you're going to be welding and painting then yes, by all means go nuts with a roller and pull those arches well. 235/40/17 is possible with a little muscle (and subsequent paint prep and paint).

Touche. I guess what I was looking for was an "optimal DD size." The "best" size for a DD e30. Gah, vague question. Sorry.

LOL. There's no best size really, it depends on car setup, conditions, etc etc. In general you can't go wrong with what BMW did from the factory, which is a 15x7 +24 with a 205/55/15. Simple, performs well, has no functional downside. Vague question got a slightly longer vague answer.

Can someone tell me about fitment of bbs rx203's, 17x8 +10 offset, w/ 4 to 5 lug adapters on the E30? Can I do it without being hella flush?

Not a chance, they'll be poking way out once adapters are factored in (-8 offset minimum).

Hey, i'm thinking of getting some Compomotive TH's 16x8, they come in et 25-32, so im guessing 25 all around would be best. Which tire should i go with? From what i've seen 225/45 seems like a good meaty tire, which is what I'm after. I don't want to be 4x4 height, but the 215/40/16's on my 16x9's keep me at a uncomfortable low height to look right. Considering the poor road quality around me I'd like play it a little safer. I'm on GC's with camber plates upfront.

16x8 +25 with a 225/45 is perfect. Depending on the exact tire used you may need a 3mm universal $20 special spacer to clear the struts safely.

Ok, so I'm going to be coming into some new wheels. Staggered 17" 8's in the front, 9's in the rear, all et13. I want to stagger the tires. I'm on H & R springs and billie sports. What's your thoughts? Thanks.

Rear arches rolled well. You may need stiffer springs in the rear as the fitment is aggressive.

It fits, toss a 205/45 or 215/40 on and you're set.

195/45 for sure, 195/40 will leave you zero ground clearance once the proper fender gap is achieved.

Need some help guys. Here are the wheel specs:

E38 style 5's (R16, 8" wide, ET23, +10mm spacers all around).

Trying to push the limits here and I'm running into issues. Currently the car is lowered (billys + h&r) but I'm going all out with shortened ground control coilovers soon. I had some 205/55/16 (turanza) tires in the garage so I tried them out (pictured) but those rub very badly. In the rear the fender lip is contacting the sidewall. We rolled it a bit but it seems like we'll have to flare out the fenders quite a bit which I don't want to do.

In the front, while turning, the tread keeps catching the fender as well. Ultimately, it doesn't seem like 205/55s are possible with these wheel specs on a slammed car. I've seen quite a few e30s with 205/40 and 205/45 tire setups. I feel as though those tires are a bit small though, they don't quite fill the wells. My question is, are 205/50s possible?

Question Time, ESM 004's for my m50 swapped car. I plan on boosting this car so I want to get something that will give me the grip I need for when it gets boosted(shooting for 500whp). I also like dished wheels, and want the ESM 004's, could I get away with running 17x9's with a 40 or 25 offset? I can run spacers if needed. I am not a fan of stretched tires, and am not really willing to run them. I could deal with a slight stretch but not much because I would like to keep it functional. And I won't run into any issues with 9's in the rear correct? Thinking somewhere along the lines of a 275/40/17 in the rear. I have thoughts of running a widebody, but that is a whole nother deal. If I can fit them under pulled rears that would be great, I am open to opinions!

Weird one here... I'm looking for the minimum offset required to run a Hoosier 23x9.5-15 bias cantilever slick on the rear. Section width is 10.4", and they will be mounted on a 15x7 wheel.
I realize the fronts will require spacers but I need to get the rears in as tight as possible for (obvious) fender clearance issues.

Any insight would be much appreciated!

I have a set of BBS RS that i just staggered, 15x7 in front and 15x8.5 in rear. What size tire should i run? people suggest 225/45 15...but to scared of this setup. was thinking giving the rear some stretch but would like them to be safe. Gonna run a GC full coilover setup if that helps. Rear fenders are rolled flat. BTW...et20.
