Will I need spacers? (going to need rings anyway)

Is there a wider tire I can stuff under the fenders w/o rolling or other modifications?

    Thanks - let me know!

15-20mm spacers. When you buy the wheels they usually ship with 15mm spacers for free AFAIK. You can run 205/50, 215/45, or 225/45 without fender rolling.

20mm all around is good. I'd recommend 205/45 tires, or at least 215/40s for the rears.

          Tires: Yokohama Parada Spec-2, 205/45/R16
Spacers: 10mm H&R spacers all around
Suspension: Ground Control, complete kit (GC hybrid cushion camber plates, 1.5" shortened strut housings, 440F/650R).

Currently running the above wheel/tire setup on the alpine. I think it is the best tire for the e38 style 5's (at my ride height). Currently, the tires are starting to get worn and definitely need replacing. Unfortunately the parada spec 2 is no longer manufactured.

The chalkboard had a fairly aggressive roll but the alpine has a very gentle roll since I'm not running it as low as the chalkboard. I'm worried that if I just pick a random new 205/45/r16, it is going to run wide and force me to roll the alpine fenders more (which I am not willing to do). Granted, there is a bit of room in the fronts (for a potentially wider tire), the rears are absolutely filled w/ the 10mm spacers. There is no more room for a wider tire.

Does anyone know of any 205/45's that run similar to the yokohama parada spec 2 (that don't run wide)?

Every Falken except the RT-615K runs narrow. Otherwise, the Parada was an average width tire. Stay away from Yokohama, BFGoodrich, Michelin, and most Bridgestones.

I had Falken FK452's on my e46 (265/30/R19). Loved em. Had to replace them a few months ago to find out they were no longer manufactured. So I bought the successor, the FK453. And my god, that tire runs wide. So I'm not so sure about looking at 215 Falkens and assuming they are going to run narrow....

To my knowledge, other than the Ziex ZE-912 (an all season), Falken currently doesn't make any summer tires in 205/45/R16.

In 205/45/R16, I don't really have a lot of choices. I definitely agree about staying away from BFGoodrich and Bridgestone. I do like Yokohamas though (parada spec 2) so I'm going to leave these on the list. That leaves me with the following choices:
              • Sumitomo HTR Z II
              • General G-MAX AS-03 (all season)
              • Kuhmo Ecsta AST (all season)
              • Dunlop Direzza DZ101
              • Yokohama S.drive
              • Toyo Proxes R1R

Out of the list, I'm not really looking for an all season (live in Houston, have the e46 as backup, and have a second set of wheels/tires for the e30). I'm mainly looking for a good UHP summer for grip with the s52 obd1... I may end up just ordering one tire, see if it fits, and go from there. I think the R1R is overkill since these wheels aren't for autox. Leaning towards the dunlop/yokohama but we'll see.

              Thanks for your help sir.

Yes the falken453 does run quite wide. The 452 ran narrow. The Dunlop starspec z1 also ran wide, don't know about the new Dunlop z2, havent tried them yet. Yoko are overall garbage IMO.

I can't see how one could get a 275/40/17 working even with flares. It's so tall you would have to hack the quarter panels VERY high to get clearance. It'd look like an auto-x class-bending monster once it's done.

The first setup clears the inside without spacers. The second setup needs 10mm front spacers.

S.drive is the best street tire there but it runs wide. R1Rs are overkill and also wide.

I can't think of a tire that performs well AND runs narrow. There's a reason for that, probably.

What offset and tires do I need to run 16x10's square? No flares just some rolling, maybe a bit of pulling?
