    alternative for trunk gas struts?

Hi guys. I went on realoem and found the part # for the rear hatch gas strut. The only problem is if there is an alternative solution so I don't want to get them from across the sea.

    part # 51241947096

When you clicked on the part # in the list, did the next screen show any other models using the same part?

Yes - you did it correctly. I was hoping BMW used the same part in another car that was sold in North America, but no dice. Sorry.

there's lots of aftermarket ones on ebay - use that part number - many overseas but with shipping (some free), still pretty affordable. not a crucial part to have original BMW. mine work fine. good luck

I plugged the part number in schmiedmann's website and a few days later they showed up. So nice to have new struts.
