    Lost connection needs a home

    My 1985 E30 M10 went down and I'm taking to time to do a gradual restore...discovered this lost connection that needs a plug somewhere, I hope this is my no crank issue...any help out there?
    I'm perusing wiring diagrams but it like looking at a book upside down
    Attached pics...any direction is better than my own..

    Looks to me like it plugs into the solenoid valve directly above it, which probably has something to do with the vacuum advance and wouldn't cause a no-crank.

      It's also worth remembering that over time things have been added and deleted in these cars, so it might not plug in anywhere. From the wrap on the wires and connector type it doesn't look quite factory to me, and it's clear that it's been unplugged for a long time.

      OTOH, as Varg suggests the location and possible style of connector does make it likely that it plugs in to the vacuum module.

        Thank you, I think is just an extra connection as well...I've moved on to no power to the coil...any help with testing the coil for power? I've seen posts for connections to the coil wire, just not clear/sure of the process...having fun with the whole process of getting Betsy up and going tho...318i's are
