    E30 Horn Contact Switch Broken

The bushing in the horn contact switch that retains the carbon pin, spring and connector disintegrated. If you have tried to buy this assembly recently, you know that there are none to be found.

I'm contemplating trying to repair mine by substituting Epoxy PC-7 for the bushing, but I would like to remove the riveted-in conical tube from the car first.

Does anyone on here have any experience with replacing/repairing these switches? How do they reinstall? I can't find a part number for the hollow brass rivets; does such a part number exist? Any other suggestions regarding how to go about this task will be welcome.

just the plastic sleeve in the center of the contact ? you might try getting something printed. just a thought. other than that you're looking for a parts car or ebay.

edit : it's the same little part mine popped out but was intact and simply popped back in. i'm super lucky. can you piece back in at all and add an adhesive ?

This popped up not to long ago. You should be able to buy a new contact and rivet in a new one.
