    Main bearing caps….HELP

So I’m i getting into an engine rebuild and I managed to mix up my main bearing caps. So posts say the they are number 1 - 7 from factor, but mine are definitely not….. what should I do? Am I screwed?

you might also find some discoloration, machining marks, scores, mismatch or other witness marks that could also lead you to either the correct position or which is not correct. The caps on the rod are always easy due to this

went looking online and see other unmarked sets so there must have been a change at some point.
