Can you get a tight close-up in the break itself? There must be a defect.

I will see if he still has any pictures of the one that broke on him...

was your car lowered too far? I don't see how this can happen from an impact. Take a pic of the cross section where break occurred.

Thats really disturbing. Is the real deal control arm (OEM, Quality), not just some ebay shit?

2 people so far had this problem from ebay arms in this thread. Most likely they are both made from the same sweat shoppe.

Id defiantly contact fcp groton. Im sure even more people has had this problem. Ive been so close in buying their front end kit. Im sure if you find enough people you have a legit lawsuit. Im not implying on suing them, but maybe a little scare to make them sell a quality part.

I was up above it, Now I'm down in it ~ Entropy - A Build thread.

OP- What size rims/tires are on your car? What suspension?

Since you said you were in the middle of a turn, was there a bump/dip on the road or anything before it broke?

Lesson learned: Don't buy structural suspension parts on Ebay.

Im running a H&R sport spings with bilstein Sport Struts and the car is lowered like 1.3 inches. Also with 17 inch rims. I also dont know the brand. Imma try to find out. There was a dipp on the right hand side but not on the driver side which broke.

I have seen several control arms snap at the outer ball joint. It is known condition on tracked e30, which is why it is recommended to change them every other track season. The break from the pictured control arm seems to come from an impact. They don't break there, unless perhaps the control arm is a low quality knock-off. Personally, I don't let friends instal anything but Lemforders.
Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.
