"I also like the idea of slapping tariffs on India. They buy a ton of Russian oil, which props up Putin's war in Ukraine. If India were to sanction Russia and stop buying their products, it would help pressure Putin."
India indeed buys lots of Russian oil at a cheap price, mostly to resell to Europeans with huge benefits. Basically, the end buyer is the EU. Most EU energy companies also buy Russian oil. Not to mention Saudi Arabia that also buys huge amounts of Russian oil. Will the US tariff Saudi Arabia (especially when the US buys oild from Saudi Arabia? What about the US still buying precious uranium and fertilizers from Russia?
It. makes no sense, right?
That's because those tariffs are only a pissing contest between the US president and the rest of the world. He said himself he wants all leaders to "kiss his ass". Australia buys more from the US than the opposite, yet they got tariffed. Then the same happened with Brazil. But the orange XXXX doesn't "like" that ex-president Bolsonaro gets prosecuted for trahison and obstruction of justice.
Oh well. Let's just n ot try making sense of those tariffs. Because they make no sense. There are reasons why the US manufacturing and industrial sectors are how they are now. And there's no turning back. Even with tariffs on all imports. And nobody will invest the necessary trillions to build a new industrial structure in such an unpredictable country. But don't worry. Billionaires will get richer, and we'll get poorer. LOL
Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

Massive Lee, yeah, that's a fair point about India and others being a pass-through for Russian oil and the EU's reliance on Russian energy. I agree with some of the concepts of making the world a better place, but I don't think this idiot in the white house is doing anything other than lining his pockets and helping his friends.
On another note, how much of your business goes to the US? I haven't had a car that needed a significant brake upgrade, but it's nice to know you're around and available. It would suck to see you leave the market.sigpic
