ive owned a 2.5RS for a while before switching to my e30. my impreza had cams and other goodies that brought it up to about 185hp. my stock e30 feels just slightly slower in a straight line thanks to the lower weight and drivetrain losses. however, the start is much slower (dont have sticky tires or lsd yet).

i havent had a chance to take the e30 out on the track yet, but i tell you that an impreza is incredibly forgiving car. worrying about when to get on the throttle coming out of a corner is almost not a concern. the turbo of the wrx actually makes it more difficult and slower in the hands of a weaker driver (i regularly beat wrx's in auto-x).

point is, a good driver in either car will win. and tires make more of a difference than most other factors.
